Undersheriff Wayne Dubois (Ret.)

Wayne DuBois recently retired as the Undersheriff of Flathead County in MontanaHe is a law enforcement leader with more than 25 years of experience, 23 of which have been as an active SWAT team member and leaderPrior to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne was a police officer and supervisor at the Richland Police Department in Washington StateDuring his career, Wayne has responded to, supervised, or been in command of hundreds of SWAT operations, including high risk warrant services, barricaded suspects, armed suicidal subjects, and hostage situations. 

Prior to his law enforcement career, Wayne served 4 years on active duty in the U.S. Army as a ground surveillance systems operator, including a deployment to Southwest Asia for 6 months during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.  He was the SWAT Incident Commander for the regional SWAT team in MontanaWayne received the Medal of Valor for actions taken during a SWAT Operation and was named SWAT Officer of the Year and Police Officer of the Year by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

Wayne serves as a Western Region Director and instructor for the National Tactical Officers AssociationHe is a certified Force Science analyst and instructor in multiple disciplines related to tactics and SWAT.  Additionally, Wayne is a certified emotional intelligence coach.  He has also had two published articles on SWAT procedures and critical incident operations in the national NTOA publication, “The Tactical Edge.”  Wayne holds a Master’s Degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University.
